Snap Fitness Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Snap Fitness is a privately owned and operated health and fitness club founded in 2003 by Peter Taunton. Its headquarters is in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
This customer shares his experience during the Covid-19 pandemic and feels unsupported, "I paid Snap Fitness upfront for 6 months in January this year for a 6 months plan, and instead of freezing the membership during the Covid-19 lockdown so I could return now, they didn't and now my gym is permanently closed and I lost 4 months of membership. The owner (Osborne unit - Winnipeg - Canada) says he doesn't have money and he won't pay me back. As the plan ended, I lost over CDN200.00. There are still other locations but my membership expired and I can't do anything. Just try to avoid this Snap Fitness. All businesses and clients were affected by the pandemic. It's not fair that I'm losing so much money."
Former Employee - General Manager says"Low base, no other employee support"
Former Employee - Personal Trainer Sales says"Dying concept, not support from the top"
Former Employee - Personal Trainer says"Unorganized. Unprofessional. Horrible place ."
Area Manager says"Owners are dishonest, harass employees and misuse the camera usage. THEY DO NOT HAVE A HR DEPARTMENT THAT PROTECTS EMPLOYEES. Corporate doesn’t take ANY complaints serious. Owners do not pay well and refuse to pay good. They want work for free and are dishonest with the wellness programs. DO NOT WORK HERE."
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Doesn’t pay well at all"
Trainer says"Owner has terrible management skills and talks bad about members and clients behind their backs."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Corporate takes forever to respond back. All they care about is sales. You are the only staff there to do everything, clean, computer, sales, tours, for me even training. Long hours, 6 day work weeks, only 5 paid days off per year. Benefits are expensive. They expect you to be a landlord handyman, trainer, manager and everything else under the sun. No room for growth. No raises unless you sell an absurd amount of memberships. If you dont like to work with other people and are okay with never moving up in a postion then itll be perfect. Need to be good at multitasking and handling stress."
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Owners are useless - you'll have to deal with a lack of professionalism and their own "unique" way of running a business. No benefits/insurance. Mistreatment and having to listen to them whine and have fits over nothing. They gossip about members and staff - and speak very ill of past employees. Prepare to be slandered if you leave!"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"If you are looking to join the marketing team/design team/project management team, I highly recommend you keep looking. The management at this company has exetremtly poor communication skills with each other, their employees, franchise owners, and customers. Furthermore, on this team the turnover rate is unbelievably high. In less than 6 months 2 graphic designers, 3 interior designers, a copywriter, and 2 project managers were either fired or found new positions. If you mess up on even the smallest of tasks you will either be publicly mocked or fired on the spot. No questions asked. Snap Fitness is not a strong fitness brand competitior domestically. Clubs are poorly managed and very dirty. Most locations are either closing or on the verge of doing so. With increasing competition and poor reviews worldwide, the future for this company does not look bright. Overall, this company treats their employees horribly. You will not be valued and be reminded constantly that you are replaceable. Everyone at this company is constantly in bad moods and there is drama every single day. If you are offered a job and they seem very excited for you to join the team.... don't be fooled. They are only this excited because they are extremely desperate since all of their employees leave. Once being exposed to this negative environment and failing company you will not stick around long."

Manager (Former Employee) says"I am a former employee who was with the company for over 3 years. I was unable to advance even though I got my degree and ended up being layed off out of nowhere. They pay you minimum and make bonuses so small they don't make a difference. They expect you to work crazy hours. DO NOT WORK AT SNAP FITNESS!!!!Free gym membershipBad Hours, Bad Pay, Bad Management"
Personal Trainer (Former Employee) says"you are expected to be there for 8 hours and not get paid to potentially gain a client or two. Snap does not pay a wage, only 60% commission. Personal Training is not a career. It may be good if you live close and want some extra money and have a desire to help people get in shape! other than that you best have another job that pays!!!!! Pay is not direct deposit.nothing.no wage. bad pay."
Customer Service and Sales Associate (Former Employee) says"No customers due to prices being to high compared to other qyms. Management was no where to be found especially when they were needed. Never worked more than 4 hrs a day. No room for advancement ever. I would never work here again.non"

Personal Trainer (Former Employee) says"Loved working with the people, had such a great experience. Hard to get clients as I was female, and owner sent all to the one Male on staff.Loved all clienteleviewed as a woman couldn't do job."
Club Manager (Former Employee) says"Poor senior management, unrealistic targets, no support. Its a franchise so it will depend on who owns it. Senior management got it all wrong then put the blame to the staff."
Hadeel Hijazieh says"Never Ever sign up with any Snap Fitness Location in Canada! The mother company that manages them is Lift Brands or Lift Brand, they both have horrible customer service and ripped me off! You’d think you are signing up with a good company with a reputation and fancy social media but you are not!! You are actually signing up with the person that owns the gym, they only sold him the name but if something goes wrong, anything, from emergency to injury in the gym to harrasement to bankruptcy then you have to deal with that person not them. I paid $500 for a 6 months membership with a location near me thinking I’m signing up with reputable company and even the forms had their logos!! Big scammers!! Anyway, after two weeks, the gym closed and had an eviction notice on the door!! The gym owner person went bankrupt!! He did not tell me that when I signed up! He just took my money!! $500 people!! I spoke to head office and they said that I have to deal with the mysterious person who owns the gym and they gave his email address ONLY!! Their headoffice person was Shannon Reid who kept telling me it’s not their problem and I have to Email the person I don’t even know. I emailed a COO and an assistant CEO of SNAP FITNESS, I got their emails from Linkedin and they didn’t even care to email be back anything. SNAP FITNESS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU OR ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL! We work hard to make $500! That’s quarter my salary! I signed up for 6 month to save money, for a reason. Snap Fitness ripped me off and throw me down there to deal with a bankrupt mysterious person that I don’t know and did not offer any help and did not care and did not give me my money back!! Shame!!"
